Purchases of goods and services by mail, telephone, and Internet are increasing. It's fast and easy, but is it safe? That's typically the question both merchants and consumers ask. Merchants want tools and resources that confirm transactions are legitimate. Consumers want assurance that their account information is being guarded.
As the nation's leading processor of ecommerce and direct marketing payment transactions, Chase Paymentech understands the nuances of potential transaction fraud. We have made it our business to become fraud management experts and we put our knowledge to work for our merchant accounts, delivering powerful products and offering third-party fraud solutions.
OnGuard, Chase Paymentech's Suite of Risk Management Solutions:
- Address Verification Service (AVS) - Helps reduce the risk of accepting fraudulent transactions by verifying the cardholder's billing address on file with the card issuer.
- Card Security Verification - Compares the card security value, non-embossed 3- or 4-digit numeric code on the credit card, with the issuer's value on file. Credit card verification programs are offered by the major card associations and are known as CVV2 (Visa), CVC2 (MasterCard), CID (American Express) and CID (Discover Card).
- Credit Card Authentication - Verifies a cardholder's account ownership during an online purchase. With Verified by Visa (VbV) and MasterCard SecureCode, consumers are assured that using a bankcard online is as safe as using it at a local merchant.
- Card Brand Data Security - Compliance with the Visa and MasterCard data security programs (CISP and SDP) protects your cardholder data and reduces fraud.
