12/2/2011 Pulse Index Shows Record Online Shopping Volume
For the holiday weekend including Black Friday, the Pulse Index indicated a 24 percent increase in sales over the same period in 2010. For the full holiday season to date, transactions are up 40 percent, and sales are up 26 percent year over year. The average ticket values remain down around 9 percent from last year.
 
11/15/2011 Chase Paymentech Launches 6th Annual Cyber Holiday Pulse Index
The Pulse Index provides Insight into consumer online shopping trends through the holidays, giving an inside look at consumer online shopping trends for the key shopping days Black Friday and Cyber Monday and throughout the holiday shopping season. Online shopping statistics for the first two weeks of November show strong year-over-year growth. Significant transaction volume is driving online sales up over 25 percent vs the same period last year. Average ticket value, however, appears to be continuing a downward trend for the fourth straight year, currently down over 9 percent.
